Do not mix up backhaul and black hole

"Backhaul" and "black hole" are 2 different notions.

A black hole is not desirable in a network (in most cases): the data will be dropped and there is no communication.
This may be caused by routing problems: some parts of the network are not reachable because some prefixes addresses were not advertised in the routing protocol. The black hole can affect a router (for example, all the incoming traffic is sent to the Null0 interface), or it can affect a big part of the global Internet traffic (the best example for this is the Youtube case).

The backhaul is the part of the telecommunication network between the Access network and the Core network.
